Where an article makes factual claims about energy use, costs, products, or technical specifications, we aim to identify the relevant source and link to it when practical.

Sources can include government agencies, research institutions, standards organizations, manufacturers, and other primary or authoritative sources.

Product recommendations

We distinguish between:

• Published specifications and factual product information
• Editorial analysis based on those facts
• Hands-on testing, when it has actually been performed

We do not describe a product as independently tested unless the site has actually conducted the testing.

Updates and corrections

Articles may be updated when important information, product availability, specifications, pricing, or source material changes.
